About
What Find A Tough Lawyer is, and what it is not.
An independent legal media service for injured people: explain what shapes a case, in plain language, and let you decide whether to ask for a review. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice.
Who operates this site
Find A Tough Lawyer is operated by Find A Tough Lawyer Media LLC. The company publishes legal information and, where the rules of a state allow it, connects people who ask for help with independent participating attorneys.
We are not a law firm. No one here is your attorney, nothing on this site is legal advice, and using the site creates no attorney–client relationship. An attorney–client relationship begins only when you and an attorney agree it does, in writing.
What we do
- Explain what shapes a case. Guides and accident and injury pages describe the factors an attorney looks at, written from named sources.
- Let you check your own situation privately. The case factor check runs in your browser. It asks for no contact details, sends nothing, stores nothing, and never produces an amount.
- Pass on a request, if you choose to make one. Where participating attorneys are available and the rules of your state allow it, a request can be passed to one. You are never obliged to make one.
What we never do
- Tell you what your case is worth, or predict what you would receive.
- Guarantee an outcome, or that any attorney will take your case.
- Rank attorneys, or call anyone the "best" or "top" lawyer.
- Publish a legal statement that an attorney has not approved, or an attorney profile or case result we have not verified.
- Send what you tell us — your injury, your accident, your location or anything you type — to advertising or analytics platforms.
How this is paid for
Attorneys may pay to participate. That is how the site is funded, and it is why this is advertising rather than a recommendation. Payment never buys a good word: it has no effect on what our guides say, on which attorney a request reaches, or on anything an attorney reviewer approves. Every relationship an attorney has with this site is stated on their profile.
Full detail: advertising disclosure.
Who checks the content
Legal content is written from approved sources and reviewed by a licensed attorney before it is published, and it carries the reviewer's name and the date. Attorney profiles and case results are published only after their licence or documentation has been verified. If approval is withdrawn, the page comes down.
The rules we hold ourselves to: editorial standards and methodology.
Reported outcomes and figures
No figure appears anywhere on this site unless it comes from a verified dataset and passes our published rules: the source, the number of matters behind it, the period covered and the limitations are shown with it. Until that exists, the case factor check explains the factors instead, and says plainly when something needs an attorney's review.
The rules in full: how we report case outcomes.
Getting something corrected
If anything here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it or take it down. Corrections and press enquiries: contact.
